Blogger Interview: Rajesh Namase of Techlila.com

Please, kindly make an introduction of yourself to our Readers. Tell us what you do and a bit insight into your Bio.

Hi friends, I’m Rajesh Namase, I’m an IT engineer by profession and a blogger by passion. I’ll join TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) next month; I’m blogging as a part time job. A hobby converted into part time job.

How did you find out about Blogging?

In 11th standard I started my first website on peperonity.com then I tried many free hosting with free domains, but at that time I wasn’t serious that much.

When I was in third year of engineering I started my blogging journey with Blogspot platform then my uncle suggested to use WordPress with custom domain, on 19th Sept., 2010 I started Namase.com as my first official blog.

How did you come about the name of your blog?

Really it’s a tough task for every blogger to choose a domain name, I started my blogging journey with Namase.com- “Namase” is my surname, then I thought it’s not fair to use personal domain for tech related blog so I’ve migrated Namase.com to TechLila.com. At the time of registration of TechLila.com I tried around 50-70 domain names combination then I choseTechLila.com domain for our tech blog. You know meaning of Tech word already and in Marathi (a regional language in India) Lila means some magic

What motivated you to blogging?

There are many people (bloggers) who always motivate me; it’s not possible to mention all bloggers name here, I’m mentioning three famous names here – Milenko (Mystique Theme Developer @digitalnature),Brian Gardner (@bgardner) and Paul Underwood (@paulund_)

What was Your Major Challenge when starting out and how did you overcome it?

In the starting I faced many challenges with hosting provider, as at that time I wasn’t aware about good hosting service provider. My uncle helped me to solve this hosting issue, now all my sites are hosted on Hostgator servers. I’m really happy with Hostgator as server up-time is 99.9999 %

How many hours do you work on your blog daily?

Nowadays I’m spending daily 10-14 hours per day on TechLila, FindASoft and overall development. It will not be possible to spend 10-14 hours once I start working in TCS

On daily basis I try to improve my blogs, I always think to improve blog theme, I try to add many features in it, also I like to read other programming blogs, sharing stuff on internet. I maintain to-do list and there are many things in my to-do list, hope I’ll complete all of them soon.

How long did it take you before you actually started making money online and what moneymaking methods are working best for you right now?

I started blogging in Sept., 2010 and in January 2011 I published article on Mystique theme modifications, I shared around 50 tweaks (code snippets) to modify Mystique WordPress theme, and then at the end of January one client hired me for Mystique theme customization, I remember he offered me 75 USD for mystique theme customization. Then I tried Ad-sense, BuySellAds etc. Sponsored review is the best money making method and it’s working best on TechLila J Also from the end of last month I’m experimenting income from Adsense ads.

Which Blog do you love reading? Are you active in forums also?

I like to read programming related blogs mostly and I enjoy reading articles on briangardner.com, paulund.co.uk and wpdaily.co. On these blogs you’ll find articles on WordPress, web design and web development. As I mentioned earlier I always try to improve look and features of TechLila theme. From Feb 4, we’ve started using custom made Genesis child theme on TechLila. I’m trying various code snippets to improve its functionality.

I’m active in wordpres.org, warriorforum.com and in digitalnature.eu. I like to solve problems related to WordPress theme and SEO related issues. Due to busy schedules I normally spend only 1 hour in mentioned forums.

What are some of the biggest mistakes you see Upcoming Bloggers making in regards to Blogging?

“Ctrl+V” I mean copy pasting others articles, is a biggest mistake many upcoming bloggers are doing. Also many newbie bloggers start their blog solely to earn money only. They should focus on sharing unique articles, something valuable to citizens.

What advice do you have for Newbie/Beginner bloggers?

Try to share unique articles instead of copy pasting articles from other blogs, choose blog subject carefully and as per your interest. Before posting a new article research well on that topic, describe the topic clearly also don’t forget about SEO. Try to maintain some posting frequency.

Don’t panic if you’re not getting many visits in the starting, focus on quality articles, you’ll see increase in traffic after 5-6 months. Once your blog traffic is daily 500-600 visitors then start thinking of making money from blogging, your main aim should be sharing something unique, valuable to your readers.

They should ask one question to their mind “What is my main aim? Am I sharing something valuable, unique or am I just another blogger?” Don’t do anything because someone else likes it, do the things which you really like. Don’t focus too much on success, pursue excellence, and success will follow you. All the best for blogging.

And to finish off, how can others connect with you?

To connect with me you can add me in your circle on Google+ OR follow me on Twitter OR add me as a friend on Facebook.
