Please, kindly make an introduction of yourself to our Readers- Tell us what you do and a bit insight into your Bio.

I’m Don Caprio but like I always tell people, it’s only a pseudonym I use online. My real name is Wale Adekile, a young Nigerian entrepreneur who’s passionate about blogging and sharing the little he knows about technology. I’m also a web designer.

How did you find out about Blogging?

It was 2009, I was out of school and had no job. I did some research on how to make money online and I tried a couple of them from HYIP to surveys but didn’t make that much. I ended up getting scammed and in my quest, I came across making money online through blogging. It sounded like fun and since I was someone who loved sharing, I thought it was a cool way to finally make some money online.

NOTE: Would you like to be featured on this blog also? then this is for you Questions for Interviews

How did you come about the name of your blog?

Doncaprio.com is just a combination of my first and last name, Don Caprio. But like I said, it’s a pseudonym. I’ve always used that name since 2002 or 2003, even before I started blogging in 2009.

What motivated you to blogging?

Initially, it was the money and nothing else. But the truth is I feel in love with it over time and the urge to just write so people could learn kept me going. If you’re not passionate about writing, blogging isn’t for you.

What was Your Major Challenge when starting out and how did you overcome it?

My greatest challenge was getting traffic. It was very frustrating writing stuffs with no one to read it and it got to a point I felt like I was wasting my time. It’s the same thing for most new bloggers but as time passed by, I learnt that traffic grows when you do it right. Valuable content, promotion and search engine optimization was what I needed.

How many hours do you Spend working on your blog daily?

Blogging used to be a part-time job but now, I’m a full-time blogger / web designer and I spend up to 8-10 hours a day working on my blog and client’s websites.

How long did it take you before you actually started making money online and what money making methods are working best for you right now?

It took over a year before I actually started making money and right now, I’m into CPC and direct sponsorship. I’m yet to take affiliate marketing seriously though I know I ought to.

Which Blog do you love reading? Are you active in forums also?

I’m not really active in forums except mine which is under reconstruction at the moment. I do read lots of blogs daily, tech blogs, blogs on blogging tips, even entertainment blogs. I’m a regular reader at Problogger, Techcrunch, Mashable, Famous Bloggers, CopyBlogger and much more.

What are some of the biggest mistakes you see Upcoming Bloggers making in regards to blogging?

Most new bloggers fail to see that blogging is not a get-rich-quick scheme and it requires a lot of hard work and dedication. In the process of trying to make dollars in the first few months, they go ahead copying articles from popular blogs thinking that’s how to rank on search engines. Blogging isn’t for the lazy mind and as a matter of fact, you may not make a dime in the first 6 months, even the first year so to speak..

What advice do you have for Newbie / Beginner bloggers?

I’m still a beginner myself… not till I’ve got at least 10 years experience in this field. Anyway, I believe new bloggers shouldn’t focus on money at first. The key to a successful blogging career is building great contents for readers to learn from. Also, it’s important to build your reputation as a real blogger and not just a desperate plagiarist. Plagiarism kills creativity and should be avoided. Connecting with people in the same field too has immense benefits.

And to finish off, how can others connect with you?

My twitter handle is @doncaprio and I’m also on Facebook, fb.me/doncaprio. I can also be reached by email with caprio (at) capriofiles (dot) com.
